It's first come, first serve, so if a list is filled, you'll need to pick another list. Once again, extensions will not be granted to games lists this year, both due to difficulty gaging when a game deserves a extension, and to remain fair to everyone who might put requests in after an extension. In this case, you'll be able to use a request each on both versions of the game. The exception to the rule is if a game has a different version that warrants a separate list (IE - Generations Console VS Generations 3DS). The catch to this is that you will can only use one request per game, in order to keep things fair to everyone, so you will not be able to use multiple requests on Sonic 3 & Knuckles, for example. 1 Wild Card Request (A Wild Card can be used to either add a regular song, or a remix, depending on what you prefer!)

Now - in terms of the Song Requests - everyone who participates in the event will receive a total of six requests, divided out as: So for an example of how a song list will be laid out: Remix Requests on the other hand remixes, covers, or mash-ups of a Sonic song, and can either be a official one (IE - Sonic R - Special Remix by Tee Lopes), or a fan-made unofficial remix (IE - Live & Learn by NateLikestoBattle, SilvaGunner remixes, etc). Otherwise, we'll assume it's the original version of Colours, or the final version of S3&K. For example - Colours Ultimate Remixes, and Sonic 3 Beta tracks are allowed to be submitted as regular song requests, but their placements within the playlist will be noted as sharing a list with the original Colours/S3, and you'll be asked to specify which version of the track you're referring to. The exception to the rule is tracks that are different, but not enough to warrant separate lists. For example - Carnival Night Zone Act 1 from Sonic 3, Kingdom Valley from 06, Dragon Road from Unleashed, etc), along with official themes, and alternative but official versions of those themes (IE - Original - All Hail Shadow, Zebrahead - His World, Crush 40 - With Me, etc). Regular Song Slots are what you would expect - These are the normal versions of Sonic songs you would find in a given game. The playlist will include every song requested from each member, and will cover most aspects of Sonic, and even some franchises outside of Sonic.Īlmost every single Sonic game and piece of media will be listed within the community song playlist below, with each game and piece of media having anywhere between 3 to 5 regular song slots (depending on how popular the game was in previous years in terms of requests), along with remix slots. As mentioned in About, the main idea of the event is the SSMB community coming together to compile a playlist that represents Sonic's history and to contribute to this awesome festival.Īs such, every member who participates in the event will be able to request songs from the Sonic series, and they will then be added to the community playlist, which can be found within OP and will be regularly updated as more requests come in. So, how the event itself works is pretty simple.

Once compiled, we then air the entire playlist live on Motobug in two separate streaming sessions, creating an awesome Sonic music festival for all to enjoy, hang out, and chill to! This event is being hosted by myself, and the other members of the Motobug team, approved by helped/sponsored by and I'd like to give special thanks to some of the new features we're able to offer this year, and his help!Īs with every year - it is absolutely vital you read the OP and understand the rules for taking part in the event! The event in of itself is a dedicated event for looking fondly back at the vast musical history of Sonic the Hedgehog, where the SSMB community comes together with their song requests to create a huge playlist of Sonic tracks from all aspects of the franchise - games, shows, and beyond, while paying recognition and respect to fan works, and other SEGA franchises on top of that. Back again for 2022, it's time for the annual event that celebrates the Blue Blur's birthday by celebrating the franchise's history of insanely good music! Created for a SSMB years ago, this is the seventh Sonic Musical Spectacular! (Motobug is already out collecting 50 rings to achieve his super form as we speak).įor those of you who're just joining us, and need a rundown on what the event is - Sonic Musical Spectacular is a yearly summertime event announced to coincide with Sonic's anniversary, along with marking another year of operation for SSMB's unofficial stream channel - Motobug.
